Writing Coaching

While my doctorate degree is in criminal justice, I’m also passionate about writing— and not just my own writing or writing in my field. As the Internship Coordinator for a center at Rutgers University, I worked with dozens of students over the course of a decade. They came from diverse backgrounds— criminal justice, sociology, data science, even the fine arts. And while their experiences in academia varied, they often confided to me that they struggled with the same thing— producing their own persuasive, compelling writing in a world of AI slop.

Whether it was writing high school papers, getting ready to apply for college, or writing at the undergraduate and graduate level, they needed guidance and support during these journeys. Topic selection, writing preparation, transitions, research and citations… it can be a lot to tackle on your own.

And I’ve personally been on both sides of this process, both as a student and a college professor teaching at Rutgers University-Newark and The College of New Jersey.

I am proud to offer writing coaching services to my community. Writing isn’t something I just do; it’s something I excel at and teach well. So, if you or your student need support at the high school, undergrad, or even graduate level, whether it’s papers or personal statements or getting a resume and cover letter just right—please reach out to me. I’d be happy to help and collaborate with you!
